Matter
I was born and raised in Harrisonburg, VA. I started going to house shows and local venues when I was about 15, and began playing in bands and putting on my own events with friends shortly after. I bought a PA and began freelancing at local venues.
In 2017 I interned at Southard Audio, and after continuing to ask for gigs I eventually was offered a position as a hand. I interned at Blue Sprocket recording the following school year, and studied studio engineering under Lex Bowler and Chris Jackson.

I studied philosophy at JMU from 2020 to 2024. With a pandemic in full swing and an audio career on pause I decided to focus on a major that would let me pivot industries if I ever needed.
When considering the modern job market I knew I would need to be able to learn new skills based on new tech, accurately assess critical situations, and communicate clearly to a a variety of audiences. The core skills of philosophy are fast learning, critical thinking, effective speaking, and clear writing. I went down the rabbit hole and would highly recommend it.

These days (if I'm not working on a show) I'm usually reading, playing music with friends, enjoying a coffee downtown, or wandering in the great outdoors.
